Requiem, An Act or Token of Remembrance
I admire old fabrics, I appreciate the beauty of patterns, the quality of workmanship, I perceive their ancient smell and imagine the stories hidden behind the frayed threads, and I collect them myself. I therefore approached several upholsterers in Prague who let me find pieces of fabric or whole upholstery stripped from old armchairs, couches and chairs in their workshops. When creating the collection, I worked in the spirit of upcycling, creating new garments using those found, no longer used fabrics that would otherwise end up as textile waste. The project shows that even discarded fabrics can be turned into luxury products.
