Spring Summer 2022
In this collection, I build on the principles that have long been central to my work. At the core of the project is an experiment with different materials, including non-wearable fabrics such as upholstery from old chairs and sofas. The pattern and texture of the materials remind us of their history and original function. By taking on the form of new garments, the materials are presented in a new context and given a second life. Precise craftsmanship is a key component of the collection, which, along with the principles of upcycling, is fundamental to my approach to sustainability. The limited size of the fabric partly determined the asymmetrical shape of the garments. The result is a collection of elegant women's clothing where each piece is an exclusive solitaire which, due to the use of unique materials, cannot be replicated. The presented looks were complemented by jewellery designed specifically for the collection by Magdalena Št'astníková from the K.O.V. studio UMPRUM.
